Last updated: August 2026 These Terms and Conditions apply to the website, quotations, products and services supplied by
Total Business Signs, ABN
74675250950 (“Total Business Signs”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By approving a quotation, placing an order, paying a deposit or using our website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
- Quotations
Unless stated otherwise, quotations:
- remain valid for 30 days;
- are based on the information, measurements, artwork and specifications available at the time;
- may be adjusted if the scope, quantities, materials, artwork, site conditions or installation requirements change; and
- exclude additional work not expressly listed in the quotation.
Any variation will be discussed with you and, where practical, approved before the additional work proceeds.
- Orders and deposits
An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing, receive the required deposit or begin work at your request. Custom signage and printed products are manufactured specifically for each customer. Once design, material ordering or production has commenced, an order cannot usually be cancelled without cost. If you cancel an order, you must pay for work completed, materials ordered and other reasonable costs already incurred. Any remaining deposit balance will be refunded where applicable.
- Pricing and GST
All prices are in Australian dollars. Prices include GST unless the quotation or website states otherwise. Delivery, installation, permits, access equipment, electrical work, engineering, site preparation and removal of existing signage are only included when expressly stated. We may correct genuine pricing or calculation errors before accepting an order.
- Payment
Payment must be made according to the schedule shown on the quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed:
- the required deposit must be paid before design or production begins; and
- the outstanding balance must be paid before collection, delivery or installation.
For approved account customers, invoices must be paid within the agreed payment period. If payment is overdue, we may pause further work after giving reasonable notice. You may also be responsible for reasonable debt-recovery costs permitted by law.
- Artwork and design approval
You are responsible for reviewing all proofs carefully before approval, including:
- spelling, grammar and contact details;
- colours, dimensions, quantities and layout;
- logos, images and other design elements; and
- installation locations and positioning.
Approval may be provided by email, electronic approval, signature or another agreed method. Production will generally begin after approval. Changes requested after approval may affect pricing and completion dates. We remain responsible for producing the approved work with due care and skill. Nothing in this clause excludes rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Customer-supplied artwork
Customer-supplied artwork must meet our production requirements. We may need to adjust, recreate or convert unsuitable files, and additional design charges may apply with your approval. You confirm that you have permission to use all logos, photographs, fonts, trademarks and other material you supply. You must not ask us to reproduce material that infringes another party’s rights or is unlawful.
- Design ownership
You retain ownership of intellectual property supplied by you. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Total Business Signs retains ownership of its original concepts, working files, production files, templates and design methods. Once all relevant invoices have been paid, you receive the right to use the final approved design for its intended purpose. Editable or production-ready source files are not included unless specifically listed in the quotation. We will obtain permission before using identifiable completed work in our portfolio, website or marketing where consent is legally required or the work contains confidential information.
- Colour and production tolerances
Colours displayed on screens or desktop printers may differ from finished printed colours. Reasonable variations can occur between materials, printers, production batches and finishes. Exact colour matching must be requested before production and may require physical samples, colour references or additional testing. Minor differences in colour, trimming, positioning, dimensions or material finish that fall within normal industry tolerances are not necessarily defects.
- Materials and suitability
We select materials based on the intended application, location, expected exposure and information you provide. You must tell us about any unusual conditions that may affect the product, including heat, moisture, chemicals, textured surfaces, recent paintwork, heavy cleaning, extreme weather or prolonged sun exposure. Product life varies according to material, location, installation, maintenance and environmental conditions. Any estimated lifespan is a guide unless expressly provided as a written warranty.
- Site measurements and information
Measurements supplied by you are your responsibility. Where we conduct a site inspection, our quotation is based on conditions reasonably visible and accessible at that time. Additional charges may apply if concealed conditions, inaccurate plans, restricted access or unexpected site requirements affect the work. We will discuss these with you before undertaking additional chargeable work where practical.
- Installation
You must provide safe and reasonable access to the site at the agreed time. Unless included in our quotation, you are responsible for:
- obtaining landlord, body corporate or property-owner approval;
- confirming underground and concealed services;
- arranging electrical or structural work;
- obtaining permits and regulatory approvals; and
- ensuring the installation area is ready and accessible.
If installation is delayed because the site is unsafe, inaccessible or not ready, reasonable rescheduling or additional attendance costs may apply. We may suspend installation where conditions present a safety risk.
- Existing surfaces
Signage, vinyl and films rely on the condition of the surface to which they are applied. We are not responsible for failure caused by unsuitable, contaminated, damaged or deteriorating surfaces that were not reasonably apparent before work began. This may include unstable paint, rust, oxidation, moisture, silicone, wax or previous adhesive residue. We will notify you if we identify a material concern before installation. Removal of existing signage or graphics may reveal fading, paint differences, holes or surface damage. Repair or restoration is not included unless expressly stated.
- Vehicle graphics
Vehicles must be supplied clean, dry and free from wax, polish, grease and contaminants. Existing paintwork must be sound. Vinyl removal may expose colour differences or damage weak, repaired, aftermarket or deteriorated paint. You must follow any care instructions we provide, including recommended waiting periods before washing the vehicle.
- Delivery, collection and timing
Production and installation dates are estimates unless we expressly agree to a fixed deadline in writing. We will use reasonable care to meet agreed timeframes but may be affected by artwork delays, supplier availability, weather, site access and circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will notify you of material delays and work with you to arrange a reasonable revised date. Risk in physical goods passes to you upon collection or delivery, subject to any rights that cannot be excluded by law. Ownership remains with us until the applicable invoice has been paid in full.
- Storage and uncollected goods
We will notify you when goods are ready for collection. If goods remain uncollected for more than 30 days, reasonable storage charges may apply after notice is given. Uncollected goods will only be disposed of in accordance with applicable Australian law and after reasonable attempts to contact you.
- Problems and claims
Please inspect goods as soon as reasonably possible after collection, delivery or installation. If you believe there is a problem, contact us promptly at
[insert email address] and provide:
- your invoice or order number;
- a description of the issue; and
- clear photographs where relevant.
Prompt notification helps us investigate and prevent further damage. A failure to notify us immediately does not remove any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Do not arrange repairs, replacement or reinstallation by another supplier before giving us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the issue, unless urgent action is reasonably necessary.
- Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law permits liability to be limited, our liability may be limited to an available remedy permitted under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
- Warranties and maintenance
Any additional product or installation warranty will be stated in the quotation, invoice or warranty documentation. Additional warranties do not replace or restrict your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. A warranty may not cover problems caused by misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised modification, inadequate maintenance, unsuitable surfaces, abnormal environmental exposure or failure to follow supplied care instructions, except where the law provides otherwise.
- Liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the order was placed. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Each party must take reasonable steps to minimise any loss arising from a problem with the goods or services.
- Website information
We take reasonable care to keep our website accurate and current. However, photographs, colours, product descriptions, dimensions and examples are general guides and may not represent every available specification. Website content does not constitute a binding quotation. Final specifications, pricing and inclusions will be confirmed in writing.
- Website use
You must not:
- use the website for unlawful purposes;
- interfere with its security or operation;
- introduce malicious software;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access; or
- copy or commercially exploit website content without permission.
Website content, branding, photographs and designs are owned by or licensed to Total Business Signs and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Some information may be personal information when it identifies you or can reasonably be linked with other information. Further information, including how to manage optional cookie categories, is available in our Cookie Policy and through the Cookie Settings link on our website, where available.
23.9 Overseas disclosure and storage Some of our technology, hosting, analytics, payment, marketing or cloud-service providers may store or process information outside Australia. You may contact us for current information about likely overseas locations relevant to your information.
23.10 How we hold and protect personal information We may hold personal information electronically and in limited paper records. Electronic information may be stored in business systems, email accounts, cloud platforms, accounting software, project folders and secure backups. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, passwords, multi-factor authentication, secure service providers, backups, staff procedures and physical security. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where applicable.
23.11 Retention and destruction We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, tax, accounting, warranty, insurance and dispute-resolution requirements. When personal information is no longer required and we are not legally required to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or permanently de-identify it. Backup copies may remain until they are securely overwritten through normal system processes.
23.12 Accessing and correcting your information You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Please contact us using the details below and provide enough information for us to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. We will respond within a reasonable period. We generally do not charge for making a request, although a reasonable charge may apply for providing access where permitted by law. There may be circumstances in which we are legally permitted to refuse access or correction. If this occurs, we will generally provide written reasons and explain available complaint options, unless the law allows otherwise.
23.13 Privacy complaints If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us in writing using the details below. Include a clear description of the issue and any relevant supporting information. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it fairly and aim to respond within 30 days. If additional time is required, we will let you know. If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au. You may also have rights to contact another applicable regulator or dispute-resolution body.
23.14 Automated decisions We do not currently use personal information in computer programs to make decisions that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect an individual’s rights or interests without meaningful human involvement. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the information required by applicable law.
23.15 Links and third-party websites Our website may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control their privacy practices and recommend reviewing their privacy policies before providing personal information.
23.16 Changes to this Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy when our business practices, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on our website with a revised “Last updated” date.
23.17 Privacy contact For privacy enquiries, access or correction requests, or complaints, please contact us using the details in clause 29 (Contact us).
- Events outside reasonable control
Neither party is responsible for delay caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, provided the affected party gives notice and takes reasonable steps to minimise the delay. If such circumstances continue for an extended period and materially prevent completion, either party may discuss ending the affected portion of the order. You will only be charged for work completed, committed materials and reasonable costs incurred.
- Disputes
If a dispute arises, either party may provide written details of the issue. Both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith discussion. If it is not resolved, the parties may consider mediation before commencing court proceedings, except where urgent relief is required. Nothing in this clause prevents a customer from contacting the ACCC, a state or territory consumer-protection agency, an ombudsman or another body available to them.
- Changes to these terms
The terms applying to an order are those provided or made available when that order is accepted. We may update the website version of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will apply to future orders and will display a revised “last updated” date.
- Severability
If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be read down or removed to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to operate.
- Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of
Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction in Queensland. This clause does not prevent a consumer from exercising any right they may have to bring a claim in another jurisdiction.
